Pilates

Pilates

I am now offering one to one sessions and small group mat classes (maximum of 4 per class) in Pilates.

Pilates was designed to help us develop mobility, balance, core strength and flexibility. It is a safe effective method adaptable to all body shapes and levels of fitness.

Having worked with acute and chronic pain conditions for many years I trained in Pilates to be able to offer individual sessions and small classes to empower people to develop their strength and flexibility. It can also support post-injury rehabilitation and allows individuals to continue to safely develop and maintain mobility, balance and core strength following diagnoses such as Osteopenia and Osteoporosis.

These small classes will allow you to learn Pilates from scratch, fine tune your existing knowledge and understanding of Pilates or adjust it to suit current health issues in a fun and informal setting in which there is lots of hands on help.

Prior to joining a small group each person will need to have a one-to-one session to discuss short and longer term goals and any health issues or concerns in order to design a more individually tailored bespoke class. Most importantly, it allows time for each individual to learn (or be reminded), which muscles to engage for core stability and how to engage them and to be able to asses their own strength and flexibility. This will further be developed in the small classes.
